Jordan Love takes big step toward returning from injury

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love at least kept the door open for a Week 3 return after taking a significant step on Wednesday.

Love was classified as a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice less than two weeks after suffering an MCL injury in Week 1. Love was hopeful of playing as soon as possible, but he admitted the current strategy is to take things “day-by-day.”

Love was expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering the injury, but it was telling that he never landed on injured reserve. Even so, it would be quite the surprise if he is able to suit up again after missing just one game.

The Packers started Malik Willis in Week 2 and beat the Indianapolis Colts with a run-heavy game plan. That strategy could work against the struggling Tennessee Titans if Love misses another week, but it sounds like he is realistically getting close to playing again within a week or two.
