Shedeur Sanders explains why he didn't shake hands with Colorado State QB

During a recent episode of his "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders" podcast, Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders explained the viral clip of him not shaking the hand of Colorado State signal-caller Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi after the Buffaloes' 28-9 win over the Rams last Saturday.

"After the game, I said something to the Colorado State quarterback because he was talking crazy on social media, and he was really doing it for the clicks," said Sanders. "...I said what I had to say to him because he wasn't telling the truth [with] nothing that he was saying. It felt like a lot of hate to me, personally. In life, if you're a hater, bro, you'll never be able to succeed."

Sanders then expanded on why he thinks people should focus more on accomplishing their own goals and less on what others have achieved.

"You should never look at what somebody else has or what somebody else is doing and be on some hating stuff towards them because everybody's path is different, everybody has a different route, and jealousy and envy is the root of all evil. So, it's like, I'm not going to ever be a hater towards anybody."

Below is the clip Sanders was upset by, which features Fowler-Nicolosi saying, "We'll see how far Instagram followers gets [Colorado]."

It's not hard to understand why Sanders had a problem with what Fowler-Nicolosi said.

Did Sanders go about it correctly by not shaking Fowler-Nicolosi's hand after last Saturday's game? That's up for debate, but Sanders wanted to let him know he didn't appreciate his comments.

The Buffaloes and their starting quarterback also responded to the disrespect by handing the Rams a 19-point loss on Sept. 14. In the win, Sanders threw for 310 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, while Fowler-Nicolosi delivered an underwhelming performance with just 209 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.
