Auburn CB Champ Anthony delivers hit of year before exiting injured

Auburn cornerback Champ Anthony experienced the highs and lows of being a defensive back in football in Saturday's showdown with Arkansas.

He first experienced the highs, when he delivered what might have been the hit of the year in college football, leveling Arkansas wide receiver Andrew Armstrong with a thunderous open field hit that not only forced an incompletion, but also knocked off Armstrong's helmet.

The beauty of that hit? It was legal. It was clean. It is everything you want to see from a big hit in the open field. Textbook in pretty much every way.

Unfortunately for Anthony, the next play did not go as well. He was injured away from the football and needed to be carted off the field while his leg was immobilized. The entire Auburn bench and coaching staff came off the field to gather around him as he was down on the field.
