A'ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu have received most of the limelight for the Aces and Liberty sweeping their first-round opponents in the ongoing WNBA playoffs. But Lynx's Napheesa Collier is quietly dominating and putting up numbers never seen before in the league's postseason history.
In Minnesota's first-round sweep of Mercury, Collier scored 80 points — the most by any player over a two-game stretch in playoffs history. Her 40 PPG is also the highest in a series by any player in history. Furthermore, she's the first to register back-to-back 30-point games to start the postseason.
Collier's 42 points in Game 2 win tied the postseason scoring record previously reached twice by Angel McCoughtry (2010) and Breanna Stewart (2022). That's not all — she became only the second player to log a stat line of at least 40 points, four rebounds and four assists since Maya Moore in 2015.

If "Phee" can sustain her dominance, the Sun are in for a grueling second-round series starting this weekend. The Lynx versus Sun series winner will face either the Aces, the reigning two-time champions, or Liberty in next month's WNBA Finals.
Collier's playoff exploits come after she finished second in the MVP voting this season for guiding the Lynx to a 30-10 record, the top seed in the Western Conference. The superstar forward averaged 20.4 points, a career-high 9.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists in her sixth season in Minnesota.
