When the white flag waved over Friday's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Kansas, race leader Ty Majeski had a three-second lead over second-place Corey Heim.
When the checkered flag flew just 30 seconds later, it was Heim racing under it first with Majeski's truck limping around to a 15th-place finish.
After pitting on lap 80, Majeski opted to not pit over the race's final green flag run, with Heim and the majority of the field pitting in order to ensure they had enough fuel.

As it turned out, Majeski's Ford F-150 ended up being just one lap short on gas, enough to hand the win to Heim on a silver platter.
Layne Riggs finsihed second with Christian Eckes, Kaden Honeycutt and Dawson Sutton rounding out the top five. Tanner Gray, Rajah Caruth, Bayley Currey, Grant Enfinger and Connor Mosack completed the top 10.
Other notable finishers include Nick Sanchez in 12th, Tyler Ankrum in 14th, Taylor Gray in 18th, Ben Rhodes in 22nd and Daniel Dye in 27th.
Rhodes and Dye were the two playoff drivers eliminated from championship contention after Friday's race. The Truck Series now only has four races remaining in the 2024 season. The Round of 8 will begin for the series on Friday (Oct. 4) at the Talladega Superspeedway with races at Homestead and Martinsville concluding the round. The Truck Series championship race at Phoenix is set for Nov. 8.
The Love's RV Stop 225 at Talladega will go green shortly after 4:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 4. Coverage of the race will be provided by FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
