Keegan Bradley continues career resurgence, helps United States clinch 10th straight Presidents Cup
It seems fitting Keegan Bradley sealed the deal for the United States at the 2024 Presidents Cup.
In 2023, Bradley was snubbed from the Ryder Cup roster and it appeared he would never play in team competition again. Now, he's one of the main reasons the U.S. has secured its 10th straight Presidents Cup.
On Sunday at Royal Montreal Golf Club, Bradley earned the clinching point over South Korean Si Woo Kim with a 1-up victory.

"Wow, that was incredible," Bradley told NBC Sports following the match. "I was saying all week I didn't know if I would get to do this again. To play in this tournament and then win the point, my goodness, the last time I played, I was the point to lose the Ryder Cup."
Bradley last played in the Ryder Cup in 2014 and hadn't participated in the Presidents Cup since 2013. Although he won the BMW Championship in August, The Athletic's Hugh Kellenberger and Brody Miller noted the No. 13-ranked player in the world was a "left-field pick" as a captain assistant for Jim Furyk.
Bradley probably proved he belonged at the tournament, though. According to Jack Milko of SB Nation's Playing Through, Bradley only played in three matches but won two.
Overall, it was a commanding victory for the U.S., which entered Sunday with an 11-7 lead over the Internationals and only needed 4.5 points to win. The Americans birdied 15 of their first 31 holes in their singles matches, which gave them a huge lead that the International squad failed to overcome.
The U.S. has a 13-1-1 record at the Presidents Cup and will hope to parlay this success into the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in Old Bethpage, New York. Bradley — who will serve as a captain at the event — played college golf at St. John's University in nearby Queens, possibly providing an upper hand for the Americans.
If Bradley and company win the Ryder Cup on their home soil, that would cap off a remarkable career resurgence for the 38-year-old.

Longtime Maple Leafs Defenseman in Serious Contract Dispute With His New Team
The longtime former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Conor Timmins is in a serious contract dispute with his new team, the Buffalo Sabres. Nobody appears happy to stay with the Buffalo Sabres organization. Most of the talented players on the team were included in trade or free agency rumors, and now, Timmins doesn't appear too excited to sign with the team. Indeed, the Restricted Free Agent, who was traded by the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Sabres earlier this offseason for Connor Clifton and a second-round pick, isn't close to reaching a deal in Buffalo. With arbitration hearings set to take place over the coming days, Timmins and the Sabres are likely to meet for that reason soon. Unless a deal is reached before then, the hearing will take place on August 2nd. The Ontario native is coming off a rocky season, where he played 51 games for the Leafs and 17 more in Pittsburgh after being traded. In those 68 games, the 26-year-old defenseman tallied 15 points, including three goals. After seeing three players around the NHL reach deals before their hearing date, some fans hoped to see the Sabres and Timmins sign a contract soon, but multiple reports confirmed that there hasn't been any 'traction' between both camps. As of now, five more players are scheduled to have salary hearings. With the Sabres' reputation, it's not surprising to see that he appears reluctant to sign in Buffalo. Hopefully for their fans, massive changes will be done to the team to make sure they can attract top talent and convince them to stay with the team.

Suns Rejected Massive Trade Offer From Pelicans During 2025 NBA Draft: Report
It has been a busy offseason for the Phoenix Suns as they have completely overhauled their roster after another disappointing season last year. Of course, the Suns have broken up their star trio of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal as they traded Durant to the Houston Rockets and bought out Beal’s contract. Now Booker is the only one remaining and it is clear that Phoenix is looking to build around him for the future after they gave him a massive two-year contract extension. For the Suns, they have added a ton of talent this offseason via trades, free agency and the draft with the headliners being Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Khaman Maluach and Mark Williams. During the draft, the Suns selected Maluach 10th overall with the pick they received from the Rockets in the Durant trade but they reportedly turned down an offer from another Western Conference team during the draft. According to The Athletic’s John Hollinger, the Suns turned down an unprotected 2026 first-round pick and the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 draft from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for the 10th pick. Of course, the Pelicans would later trade both picks they offered to the Suns for the 13th overall pick from the Atlanta Hawks that they used to select Derik Queen. This is a move that may haunt the Pelicans as they could end up being one of the worst teams in the NBA again next season due to the loaded West but it could also come back to hurt the Suns as well. For the Suns, it is clear that they have high hopes for Maluach but if they would have pulled off the trade with New Orleans and the Pelicans end up being a bottom feeder once again next season, they could have gotten the first pick in next year’s draft. Instead, the Hawks now own the Pelicans’ first-round pick next season and it remains to be seen whether not making this trade will come back to haunt the Suns in the future.
Ryne Sandberg’s health was worst-kept secret at HOF induction weekend
Ryne Sandberg died on Monday at 65 after battling prostate cancer. His death came a day after the 2025 class was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Apparently the former second baseman’s health status was the worst-kept secret over the weekend. MLB Network reporter Jon Morosi said on X that Wade Boggs had cried when mentioning Sandberg during an interview with Morosi recently. Boggs had cried because he knew his Hall of Fame classmate of 2005 was in declining health. Veteran MLB reporter Jayson Stark said that there was sadness around Cooperstown as people prepared to hear the news about Sandberg. Sandberg played in Major League Baseball for 16 seasons from 1981-97. He played 15 seasons with the Chicago Cubs and became a beloved figure in the city. Sandberg earned 10 All-Star selections, nine Gold Glove Awards, and seven Silver Slugger Awards while in Chicago. Sandberg also was named National League MVP in 1984 and led the NL with 40 home runs in the 1990 season. Sandberg first announced in January 2024 that he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. A positive development then followed in August when Sandberg revealed that tests had detected no more cancer in his body following treatment. However, Sandberg announced just a few months later that his cancer had returned. Additionally, Sandberg revealed that the cancer had spread to his other organs as well. After retiring as a player, Sandberg was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005, his third year on the ballot. He also had his No. 23 retired by the Cubs later that year and briefly had a stint from 2013-15 as manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, Sandberg’s first MLB team.

Indiana men's basketball has added Bosnian center Andrej Acimovic to its roster for the 2025-26 season, head coach Darian DeVries announced in a press release Monday. “Andrej is a talented big man that we are excited to get in our program and develop,” DeVries said in the release. “He has good size and is able to score the basketball in different ways. He is strong on the glass and has good defensive instincts and timing when blocking shots.” The 6-foot-11 Acimovic averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last season while playing in four games in the U19 ABA League, the highest level of competition in the Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia region.
