It's not often we hear about players jumping from college basketball to college football.
That is, though, exactly what is happening in Clemson, South Carolina, as star basketball player Ian Schieffelin is reportedly joining the football team for the 2025 season.

Schieffelin has been part of the Clemson basketball team for the last four seasons.
This is not the first time a potential move to football for the 6-foot-8 senior has been discussed. Prior to the college basketball season in November 2024, head football coach Dabo Swinney was asked about the position he would like Schieffelin to play on his team. Considering Schieffelin's size, his response was not a surprise.

If he decides to go through with the plan, Schieffelin will be on a Clemson team with high expectations in 2025.
The Tigers not only have two of the best returning defensive linemen in the country in Peter Woods and T.J. Parker, but also one of the top returning quarterbacks, Cade Klubnik.

It will be interesting to see if Schieffelin can make an impact on a team that is aiming to make the College Football Playoff in back-to-back seasons.
