On Sunday, LeBron James and Bronny James became the first father-son duo to take the court together for an NBA preseason game. The historic moment occurred at the start of the second quarter when Bronny, celebrating his 20th birthday, checked into the game to join his 39-year-old father.

The duo shared several interesting moments in their four minutes and nine seconds together, including when James argued with a referee over Bronny being called for an illegal screen.
With 8:14 left in the second quarter, the first father-son assist nearly came to fruition when James passed the rock to Bronny off a dribble handoff. However, Bronny would miss the three-point attempt.
After the loss to the Suns, James spoke of his surreal experience of sharing the court with his firstborn.
"...The moment when we came out of the timeout and he was picking up full court and I went up — because my guy was taking the ball out. We stood next to each other and I kind of looked at him, and it was just like, 'Is this "The Matrix" or something?' It just didn't feel real," James said, via ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
James played in his first preseason game after sitting out Friday's loss to the Timberwolves. The 22nd-year veteran finished with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 16 minutes as the Lakers were a plus-nine with him on the floor. Bronny, meanwhile, did not score in his 13 minutes of action.
Despite going scoreless, Bronny impressed head coach JJ Redick and star big man Anthony Davis with his defensive tenacity. After Sunday's game, Davis referred to Bronny as "tough" and said he liked what he saw from the rookie during the first two preseason outings, especially on the defensive side.
Redick called Bronny "a great kid" and a "pleasure to be around" while praising his growth, from when the Lakers drafted him 55th overall in June to Sunday's preseason game.
Lakers brass has spoken about treating the ongoing preseason games as regular-season affairs as the team ramps up for opening night against the Timberwolves on Oct. 22. The Purple and Gold will next face Giannis Antetokounmpo's Bucks on Thursday.
