Maxx Crosby addresses commitment to Raiders, Davante Adams rumors

The Las Vegas Raiders reportedly could part ways with disgruntled wide receiver Davante Adams before the Nov. 5 trade deadline, and head coach Antonio Pierce is seemingly hoping either journeyman Gardner Minshew or 2023 fourth-round draft pick Aidan O'Connell becomes a revelation at quarterback before January.

Star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby spoke with reporters following Las Vegas' 34-18 loss at the Denver Broncos on Sunday and insisted he wants to stay put.

"These guys know I'll take a bullet for them, everyone in this locker room," Crosby said, as shared by Paul Gutierrez of ESPN. "So you've got clowns that are online and talking, they got their one day of the week where they get to go on 'The Pat McAfee Show' and talk...about what we should do. ...So it's embarrassing. Don't speak for me."

Per Karl Rasmussen of Sports Illustrated, Crosby was referencing how former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi suggested during a "McAfee Show" segment last week that the 27-year-old staying at home to rest his injured ankle during the Raiders' Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns was a sign that he, like Adams, could want to leave the organization. Unlike Adams, Crosby played against Denver and recorded a pair of sacks.

"Come on bro," Crosby continued during his postgame comments. "You know where I want to be. You think I want to be anywhere else? No. I got this s--- tatted on my body. I don't want to go anywhere. It is just funny. You've got a lot of people that have a lot to say when they really don't know what's going on."

Crosby has a tattoo of the Raiders logo on his right elbow.

Meanwhile, Adams hasn't played since Week 3 while nursing a hamstring issue and is routinely linked in stories with the New York Jets and other would-be buyers. Adams and New York quarterback Aaron Rodgers were teammates with the Green Bay Packers from 2014 through the 2021 campaign.

"Davante's my boy, and I love Davante, and he's going to do what he's going to do," Crosby said about the trade chatter. "Praying for him, wish him the best. He's not healthy right now. He's got to get healthy. But we're focused on the Raiders. ...We're focused on who's here now. We're focused on winning. So we've got to find ways to do that."

Crosby and the 2-3 Raiders next host the 3-2 Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. As of Monday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook listed the Raiders as three-point underdogs for that contest.
