Watch: Mookie Betts has deja vu scare on NLDS Game 3 homer

In Game 2 of the National League Division Series on Sunday night, Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts thought he hit a home run into the left field stands only to be robbed by Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar. Profar fooled everybody by acting as if he did not catch it before finally revealing that he did. It was one of the plays that kickstarted a chaotic night.

Game 3 of the series on Tuesday night nearly started the same way.

In what looked to be a near mirror image of the Game 2 play, Betts sent a fly ball to deep left field with Profar going up over the wall in an effort to make the catch. He managed to get his glove on it, but was unable to secure it.

What was funny about the play is that Betts still seemed to have the Game 2 play on his mind and thought Profar caught it again. Betts stopped rounding the bases and started to head back toward the dugout.

Eventually, Betts realized it was, in fact, a home run to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.

But it was another weird play in a series that has already had plenty of them.
