It appears that Jaromir Jagr is back at it again.
The 53-year-old Czech legend laced up his skates yet again on Tuesday to play a preseason game with the Kladno Knights, and he managed to pick up an assist in the 3-2 win over HC Litvinov.

Jagr is currently not signed to a contract with Kladno, so he’s only allowed to play in exhibition games with the team, but that may be a possibility if he believes that he is still in game shape. Jagr is also the president and owner of the team, so a contract negotiation probably won’t be that difficult.
Jagr had hinted towards retirement on multiple occasions during the 2024-25 season with Kladno, aiming to finally call it a career at the end of the season. However, after Kladno’s final home game, he avoided most questions regarding his retirement, leading to some speculation that he may not be finished.
Jagr has played for Kladno ever since he left the NHL during the 2017-18 season, as the team has spent time in both the top- and second-flight leagues in Czechia. He also played for Kladno prior to the start of his NHL career, and during the 1994-95, 2004-05 and 2012-13 NHL lockouts.
Last season saw Jagr get five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 39 games. It was the third-highest total he’s had in a season since returning to Kladno, although oddly enough all three came in seasons in the top-flight league, as he hasn’t scored nearly is much in the second flight.
Jagr more notably spent 24 seasons in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers and Calgary Flames. He accumulated 766 goals, 1,155 assists and 1,921 points in 1,733 games in that span, and ranks top-five all-time in all four categories. Jagr also had 78 goals, 123 assists and 201 points in 208 playoff games, with his point total ranking fifth all-time.
Jagr won five Art Ross Trophies, one Hart Memorial Trophy, and one Bill Masterton Trophy during his illustrious career, along with two Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992 with the Penguins. His career will make him an easy first-ballot Hall of Famer when he retires, but every season he plays only delays his eligibility for another season.
