The Florida State Seminoles are having a nightmare of a season. After being ranked No. 10 in the Associated Press preseason poll, the program that finished 2023 undefeated is 1-6 in 2024.
Florida State lost 23-16 to Duke on Friday night, marking the first time in program history it has fallen to the Blue Devils, according to the ESPN broadcast. (FSU was previously 22-0).
Freshman quarterback Brock Glenn's performance certainly didn't help the Seminoles. He threw a pick-six, lost a fumble and threw another interception in three consecutive plays, making Florida State the first team with three consecutive turnover plays, per ESPN.
Duke's defense is EVERYWHERE.

The Seminoles also had a field-goal attempt recorded as blocked, but on the replay it's evident the kicker kicks the holder's hands, causing the ball to barely climb in the air where it is then swatted by a defender behind the line of scrimmage.

Believe it or not, Florida State still has a shot at becoming bowl-eligible, but there is no room for error on the remainder of its schedule.
A 14-9 win over California on Sept. 21 is the sole reason the math still works for the Seminoles. Five more wins in as many remaining games would be enough. But upcoming contests against in-state rival No. 6 Miami (Oct. 26) and No. 12 Notre Dame (Nov. 9) likely spell doom for that pipe dream.
It would be the first time since 2021 that the program would miss out on a bowl game and the third time total under head coach Mike Norvell.
