Angel Reese can’t please everybody. The Chicago Sky rookie recently recalled an instance when a presumed fan called her out for apparently snubbing them when they requested for an autograph.
On the Thursday edition of her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, the 22-year-old forward explained how having a hectic schedule can sometimes be a problem when it comes to her rapport with her fans.
Recalling that certain moment, she said that the ”fan” told her that Caitlin Clark was better than her when she couldn’t sign an autograph for them.
“Sometimes I be busy, like I can’t sign everything. One man was like, ‘That’s why you’re not Rookie of the Year, and ‘that white girl is better than you,’ and I’m like, ‘Ok, like you wanted me to sign your thing and now you don’t like me no more.’ People be so mad and they’d be like, ‘I be wanting to take a picture with you,’ but baby I can’t. ‘You’re obligated to take the picture,’” Reese said.

While already popular in the world of college basketball, Angel Reese rose to even more prominence once she was selected as the seventh-overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She had previously revealed that she’s been stalked in her home and sent death threats by some sketchy “fans” to her “rivalry” with Caitlin Clark. Others attack her with less aggression, going only as far as trolling and bashing her on social media. The “Chi-Town Barbie,” however, has seemingly learned to take everything in stride.
Snubbed fans aren’t the only ones Angel Reese may have offended. She recently revealed in a viral rant that she’s paying $8,000 in rent and her salary in the WNBA isn’t enough to pay her bills—not even one of her bills. Reese was guaranteed $73,439 in her first year in the WNBA.
“Hating pays my bills, baby. I just hope you know the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think that pays one of my bills. Literally, I’m trying to think of my rent for where I stay at [in Chicago]. I’m gonna do the math real quick. I don’t even know my [WNBA] salary,” she said.
Reese also admitted to living beyond her means. She was recently at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in Brooklyn, wearing a dress that costs around $2,800, excluding accessories.
Given her revelation, plenty of fans questioned her financial decisions. Many urged her to make better choices, especially when it comes to finding a place to stay, and minimize her living costs.
