Watch: Packers' Josh Jacobs ends league-long streak without a receiving TD

For as elite of a player as Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs is, he finally logged a career-first that most other rushers with lesser resumes have already long accomplished.

Jacobs recorded his first career receiving touchdown on an eight-yard pass from quarterback Jordan Love on Sunday.

The sixth-year veteran had held the league's longest active streak for most receptions without a touchdown (211) and finally broke that streak with his second team in his 80th career game.

According to OptaSTATS, the only player in league history to go longer than Jacobs without a receiving touchdown was running back Thomas Jones (248 receptions) when he played for the New York Jets, coincidentally his second team also.

Prior to Sunday, Jacobs has logged the eighth-most receiving yards by a running back since 2019 (1,549), an astounding stat considering he had previously only found the endzone on the ground.

He also has the second-most rushing yards in the league since entering the league (6,009) — trailing just Derrick Henry (7,913). His 47 rushing touchdowns are also the second most in that span behind Henry.

Jacobs' third quarter score put Green Bay ahead of the Houston Texans 21-19 in a critical inter-conference contest in Week 7, the fifth lead change of the game.
