Panthers QB Andy Dalton involved in car crash, evaluated by team medical staff

Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was involved in a car crash in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday.

Per a team spokesperson (h/t Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports), Dalton, his wife, their three children and dog were present in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but nobody needed to be transported to a hospital by emergency responders.

The spokesperson told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio that Dalton was being evaluated by team medical staff but provided no further update on his status.

The team also released the following statement:

Carolina is scheduled to practice on Wednesday, so any more information on the 36-year-old's condition should be revealed then.

Dalton was inserted as Carolina's starting quarterback on Sept. 16 in place of second-year passer Bryce Young. The team is scheduled to travel to Denver for a Week 8 clash with the Broncos on Sunday.
