Deion Sanders has played the heel for his whole career. Of course, that's not the case when he's on your side, but for fans who have been hoping to see him and his teams fail, he can be fun to root against.
Turns out, he also enjoys being rooted against, and as a result, so does his Colorado team.
Sanders was speaking to the media on Tuesday when he was asked about the hostile road environments the Buffaloes have faced this season.
“We like to be booed, naysayed and hated. That turns us on. It turns us on. It’s kind of sexy, matter of fact,” Sanders said in typical Coach Prime fashion (h/t On3's Steve Samra). "That’s how I felt when I played. I loved to be on the road and get booed and naysayed and all of that. I think we like being the underdogs. We like being those types of people."
Colorado is 5-2 this season and 3-1 on the road. That includes 28-9 win over in-state rival Colorado State and an impressive 34-7 win over Arizona this past weekend.
The Buffaloes still have two tough road games left, against Texas Tech and Kansas, so they'll need to continue soaking in all the haters in order to continue having a relatively successful season.
