Dusty May is heading into a big season at Michigan. It's his first in Ann Arbor after six successful seasons at Florida Atlantic.
Getting off to a strong start will be important as he looks to take the Wolverine into a brighter future, but much of what he's building will happen on the recruiting trail. As such, the Wolverines got big news (literally) on Wednesday when it was announced that four-star power forward Oscar Goodman from New Zeeland committed to Michigan.
NEWS: New Zealand forward Oscar Goodman has committed to Michigan, he told ESPN. Goodman had a standout showing at the FIBA U17 World Cup this summer, making him one of the most coveted international recruits in the 2025 class.

“I chose Michigan because of how my role would translate to their style of play and essentially I could just see myself succeeding there. Coach May is awesome! He’s very into it and broke a lot of things down for me to show how I would impact the team," Goodman told On3's Joe Tipton regarding his commitment. "I’d say I’m a versatile player who can put the ball on the floor, can step out and shoot the 3 and I use my size to my advantage with mismatches. The fans can expect me to bring a lot of energy offensively and defensively, love to do the small things that don’t go on the stat sheet.”
Goodman has only been evaluated by On3 so far, but it considers him a four-star power forward. He's part of the NBA Global Academy, so he does not yet have ranking as far as his place among the rest of the power forwards in the 2025 class.
It's telling that he's already 6-foot-7, 225 pounds, and there's reason to believe he'll keep growing. He's May's second 2025 commitment, joining four-star small forward Winters Grady.
Goodman chose Michigan over Ohio State, Texas Tech and Georgetown, among others.
