ESPN's "College GameDay" had viewers feeling like there were onions being cut Saturday morning.
With the crew in Bloomington, Indiana for Saturday's Big Ten matchup between the No. 13-ranked Hoosiers and Washington, former Indiana head coach and long-time show co-host Lee Corso took a walk down memory lane.
In a homecoming of sorts, the 89-year-old appeared on set in his old Indiana sweater, which he donned during his time on the sidelines from 1973-82.
The broadcast featured a recorded sit-down with Corso and some of his old players and assistants as they reminisced about his time in Bloomington, including defeating then-No. 9 BYU in the 1979 Holiday Bowl. That win made Corso the first Hoosier head coach to lead the program to victory in a bowl game.
"It's love. We love him and then we know that he loves us."

Corso is as much of a local icon as he is a college football broadcasting legend, and the city made sure to let him know it.
The mayor of Bloomington, Kerry Thomson, appeared on "College GameDay" to thank Corso for his contributions to the program and proclaim Oct. 26 as Lee Corso Day in the city.

Corso was visibly emotional while receiving the honor and thanked his former players and current colleagues. He's currently participating in his 37th season on "College GameDay."
The current Indiana team is looking to go 8-0 for the first time since 1967, prior to Corso's tenure.
