The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly planning to elevate former four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook for Sunday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Cook signed with the Cowboys in August but has yet to play in a regular-season game for the NFC East squad. That will likely change this weekend as he joins the roster for Sunday night.

According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, Cook has been “tearing it up in practice” for the Cowboys.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Friday he was happy with where Cook was in terms of readiness.

“Dalvin is ready. I really like the work he’s putting in,” McCarthy said.

Cook made four straight Pro Bowls with the Minnesota Vikings from 2019 through 2022, but struggled to make an impression with the New York Jets in 2023 and effectively had a lost season. Cook is still just 29-years-old, and if McCarthy’s remarks mean anything, then maybe Cook will be in a position to contribute on Sunday night.
