The Los Angeles Dodgers are two games away from the 2024 title.

Despite losing Series MVP betting favorite Shohei Ohtani to a shoulder injury and facing a bases-loaded situation in the ninth inning, the Dodgers beat the New York Yankees, 4-2, to win Game 2 on Saturday.

The result improved the Dodgers’ odds of capturing their first championship since 2020. After winning Game 1 in 10 innings, the Dodgers were listed at -240 to win the title, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. After winning Game 2, they improved their odds to win at -450 at DraftKings.

The Yankees, who nearly clawed their way back in Saturday’s defeat, now have +350 odds of winning the World Series, per DraftKings. New York will host the next two games (three, if necessary) as it pursues its first World Series title since 2009.
