Under the primetime lights of "Sunday Night Football," San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle joined an elite group, fittingly against the rival Dallas Cowboys.
With 4:42 remaining in the third quarterback, Kittle hauled in a 27-yard pass from QB Brock Purdy, recording career reception No. 500. Per Stathead, the five-time Pro Bowler becomes just the fifth 49er to hit the mark, joining Jerry Rice (1,281), Terrell Owens (592), Roger Craig (508) and Dwight Clark (506).

Kittle is the 19th tight end to reach the 500-catch mark in NFL history. Meanwhile, he's only the fourth player at the position to accomplish the feat in 105 games or fewer, alongside Kellen Winslow, Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz.
Before making history, Kittle had already impacted Sunday night's contest, catching five of six targets for 121 yards and a touchdown.

It's the 18th time he's surpassed 100 yards receiving in a game, tied with Jimmy Graham for the ninth-most by a tight end. Meanwhile, only six have had more games with at least 100 yards and a touchdown than Kittle's 13.
The 31-year-old seemingly has many more games ahead of him to add to an already robust resume. But Sunday's accolade may have officially secured Kittle's spot in Canton.
