Marc-Andre Fleury has not played a game for the Pittsburgh Penguins since the 2016-17 season, but he remains one of the most popular players in the history of the franchise.
With Fleury set to retire following the 2024-25 season, he made his final visit to Pittsburgh on Tuesday night and helped lead the Minnesota Wild to a 5-3 win over his former team.
He not only got No. 1 star honors, he ended up getting an emotional send-off from Penguins fans as they all remained in the building to cheer him one more time as he skated around the ice to salute them.

The Penguins selected Fleury with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NHL Draft and brought him straight to the NHL as an 18-year-old, which is unheard of for goalies. From that point on he became a key part of their core along with Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, a quartet that would go on to play in four Stanley Cup Finals and win three of them.

The Penguins sent him to the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 expansion draft due to salary cap restraints and the presence of Matt Murray, a younger, cheaper goalie that had also played a huge role in the team's 2016 and 2017 Stanley Cup championships.
Fleury's production and play made him a star. But his athletic style that produced highlight reel saves and his engaging, fun-loving personality made him beloved in Pittsburgh.
Along with his three Stanley Cup rings he is also No. 2 on the NHL's all-time wins list for goalies and also has a Vezina Trophy on his resume. He also played in a fifth Stanley Cup Final when he backstopped the Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural 2017-18 season.
Fleury also spent some time with the Chicago Blackhawks in his career along with the Penguins, Golden Knights and Wild. Tuesday was Fleury's 563rd career regular season win in the NHL. He won 375 of those games with the Penguins.
