Watch: Jacksonville State RB Tre Stewart springs for huge first half against Liberty

Jacksonville State running back Tre Stewart ran free against Liberty early in Wednesday night's game.

The Gamecocks back scored two touchdowns in the first half on big runs.

Stewart scored a 75-yard touchdown to tie the game at seven less than five minutes into the game.

He added a 28-yarder early in the second quarter, breaking a tackle attempt at the four-yard line before falling into the end zone.

At halftime, Stewart has 13 carries for 190 yards (14.6 yards per attempt). 

He's accounted for a remarkable 76.6 percent of Jacksonville State's offense, with the unit gaining 248 total yards. Quarterback Tyler Huff only has one completion for 15 yards.

Liberty (5-1, 3-1 in CUSA) entered the game as a 2.5-point favorite. Jacksonville State (4-3, 3-0 in CUSA) has won four in a row after an 0-3 start and is averaging 50.8 points per game during that span.

Stewart did his part to keep the Jacksonville State offense humming, and it will be up to the rest of the unit to kick into gear for Jacksonville State to pull off the road upset.
