It hasn't been the season Mike Norvell anticipated at Florida State. One season after winning the ACC and being a team that should have made the College Football Playoff, the Seminoles are 1-7 and have lost four straight.
They also have the nation's second-to-worst offense, averaging just 14.9 points per game.
Much of that has been the involvement of young quarterbacks in the FSU offense. DJ Uiagalelei was a failure of a transfer, but he also broke a finger on his throwing hand.
Redshirt freshman Brock Glenn and true freshman Luke Kromenhoek have gotten some run in Uiagalelei's stead, but the results haven't been great.
Glenn has completed just 45.1% of his passes for 392 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Kromenhoek has completed just 9-of-21 passes for 80 yards in his appearances against Duke and No. 6 Miami. He did rip off a nice 42-yard run on a 4th-and-1 that should have been stuffed, though, so he does have some juice with his legs.
Never stop moving!

These issues aren't long-term problems in Norvell's mind, though. It's just young quarterbacks being young quarterbacks.
“I've been pleased, especially with the situation these guys have been put in. I’ve been pleased with a lot of elements of their game that I’ve seen,” Norvell recently said, according to On3.
“We’re still working through a lot of just being a young quarterback,” Norvell contiued. “And for those guys, with every rep that they get, I’m seeing growth. I’m seeing application. I see the potential of what it can be. But they get to go out there, and they get to continue to pour in that work. And we got to do our job as coaches and everybody surrounding them to help them be successful in those moments. But I am proud of the work that they are investing and definitely excited about what their future’s going to be."
Develop is all Norvell can do at this point because this season is absolutely lost.
Whether Glenn or Kromenhoek is the answer next season is still a massive question mark. Norvell could and perhaps should decide to test the transfer portal market, but for here and now, he does seem to see somewhat of a future in his young quarterbacks.
