Injuries have plagued the Boston Celtics early in the season. Kristaps Porzingis isn't expected to make his season debut until December at the earliest. Sam Hauser has missed time due to a lower back strain. And Jaylen Brown is scheduled to miss his fourth consecutive game when Boston faces the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.
Yet, despite their less-than-ideal start to the season, Joe Mazzulla's team has won seven of its first nine games. Jayson Tatum is playing like an MVP candidate, and Payton Pritchard is already chasing Sixth Man of the Year honors.
During a recent appearance on Kevin Garnett's "KG Certified" podcast, former Celtics sharpshooter Eddie House pinpointed why Boston continues to produce at an elite level.
"Been around this team for a few years now," House said. "When you talk to somebody and look in their face, you know when someone is serious. Or you know when they're saying all the cliche things...The other players don't want to let them (Tatum and Brown) down. The coach doesn't want to let them down. So, hell yeah, I think they can repeat."

One of Boston's biggest strengths is its continuity. A large portion of this team has been together for three or more years. They understand what it takes to win as a unit. They have clearly defined roles but are willing to step up if one of their teammates struggles.
Tatum and Brown have emerged as the team's true leaders. Although they may approach their jobs differently, their value within the locker room is clear.
Boston will likely not be at full strength until the opening weeks of 2025. It will be interesting to see how quickly they can reproduce the form that saw them dominate the NBA last season.
Tatum and Brown can help the Celtics become a dynasty. Their rise as two of the most talented players in their respective positions and genuine NBA veterans has been a significant turning point for the franchise.
