Bills without key player for Sunday's game vs. Colts

The Buffalo Bills announced on Friday that rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

Coleman injured his wrist during the Bills' Week 9 win over the Miami Dolphins. While McDermott does not think Coleman will go on injured reserve, he remarked, "that remains to be seen at this point," when asked how long he could be out, per Yahoo Sports.

2024 has been a great rookie season for the second-round draft pick out of Florida State. Coleman is tied for a team-high three receiving TDs and his 417 receiving yards are second to Khalil Shakir (471). Coleman leads the team with an average of 19 yards per catch.

Unfortunately for the Bills, Coleman is not the only key receiver battling an injury. Amari Cooper is also dealing with a wrist injury and is questionable for Sunday's game after missing the team's Week 9 win.

Per ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg, Cooper said he is "just taking it day by day" and "getting better as the days go by."

The Bills have a bye in Week 12, but if they cannot get healthy, they may be short-handed in a showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11.

After losing wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, this Bills team was expected to take a step back. With quarterback Josh Allen taking care of the ball (17 TDs, two interceptions) and running backs James Cook (496 rush yards, seven TDs) and rookie Ray Davis (262 rush yards, two TDs), the Bills have been a balanced team on offense.

Possessing only one win over a team with a .500 or better record (Cardinals) and injuries to key players adding up, the Bills will get tested with games against the Chiefs, 49ers and Lions remaining on their schedule.
