The San Francisco 49ers should make sure rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall keeps his first touchdown ball. He won't want to forget it, considering all he's overcome in 2024.
On Sunday, late in the first quarter against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy tossed a quick pass to Pearsall in the middle of the field. Pearsall then raced to the end zone for a 46-yard TD, giving San Francisco a 7-0 lead.

On Aug. 31, Pearsall suffered a gunshot wound during a robbery attempt in the Union Square area in San Francisco. He was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital, where he made a full recovery.
After missing six games, the first-round pick debuted in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Through his first two games, he had seven receptions for 59 yards.
Expect the former Florida Gator to become more involved in the 49ers offense throughout the season. Star San Francisco WR Brandon Aiyuk recently suffered a season-ending ACL/MCL tear.
