The Dallas Cowboys have many, many problems on the football field right now, and after another ugly 34-6 loss at home to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, their playoff chances seem to be completely cooked.
Their issues, however, extend well beyond the football field and go as far as 93 million miles away to that big flaming ball of hydrogen and helium in the sky known as the sun.
That issue became a pretty big talking point on Sunday as several players, including Cowboys players, were being blinded by the sun that was shining in through the open windows in the end zone.
It was a problem, and at one point it cost Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb a touchdown because he literally could not see the ball.

“I couldn’t see.”
Are you in favor of curtains in AT&T stadium?

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who was probably already in a terrible mood after watching his team get humiliated on its home field again, went on a rant for the ages about the situation after the game and refused to listen to any reason in the discussion.
A frustrated Jerry Jones had some comments about the sun impacting play at AT&T Stadium: “By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not. We do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium.”

Why not put up curtains over the… pic.twitter.com/28skNrZYBq
When asked why the team does not just clothes the curtains that are in place, Jones responded by saying "Well let's tear down the damn stadium and build another one."
He also added that both teams have to deal with it before concluding with: “I’m saying, the world knows where the sun is. You get to know that almost a year in advance. Someone asked me about the sun. What about the sun? Where’s the moon?”
It seems like there should be a happy medium here between, "tear down the stadium" and "blind your players in a manner that prevents them from doing their jobs."
That happy medium would be simply closing the curtains that already exist.
Neither the sun, curtains or the moon are why the Cowboys lost on Sunday or why they are 3-6 on the season. They would have lost this game either way. But Jones' stubborn refusal to even consider another option is a pretty good reminder as to why the team is in the position it is in: It is Jerry's way and nothing else because, in Jerry's mind, Jerry knows best.
Even when he does not.
Stubborn. Wrong. Completely misguided. It all starts at the top.
