Was Stephen Curry motivated by Klay Thompson's snub?

Stephen Curry put together a signature performance on Tuesday night to beat the Dallas Mavericks in Klay Thompson’s first game back at Chase Center since leaving the Golden State Warriors. 

One would assume such an occasion would motivate Curry enough, but one of his teammates suggested there was some extra fuel as well.

In Wednesday’s edition of “The Draymond Green Show,” Green said he had texted Curry to encourage the guard to be locked in for Tuesday’s game given its importance. The star forward said Curry responded by calling Green and offering an important detail.

“Steph was supposed to speak before the game. He was like, ‘Yeah, I called Raymond (Ridder, Warriors’ VP of communications) and told him I’m not speaking. I just need to lock in on the game so I ain’t even speaking. And I talked to Klay about it.’ Tried to check in with Klay on something else and Klay ghosted him,” Green said. “So he got p---ed, and here we go.”
