Week 11 NFL Draft intel: What's Deion Sanders' plan for Colorado stars?

Each week, Yardbarker is monitoring the 2025 NFL Draft, scheduled for April 24-26 in Green Bay.

From a Colorado duo to Boise State's electric RB, here are five players we are tracking.

Colorado HC Deion Sanders will steer QB Shedeur Sanders and CB/WR Travis Hunter to specific teams

During a Tuesday episode of FS1's "Speak," Sanders admitted he would intervene if the "wrong team" drafted his son, Shedeur, or Hunter.

"Yeah, but I'm not going to do it publicly. I'll do it privately," Sanders said. "I'm gonna be Dad until the cows come home, and with Travis as well."

The Pro Football Hall of Famer didn't specify which teams he wants to draft Shedeur, but he did say he wants him to play for a coach with a proven track record with QBs.

The HC's claim shouldn't affect their draft stocks. On Tankathon's top-100 prospects, Hunter (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) is the No. 1 prospect, while Shedeur (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) is No. 4. The QB is tied for third in the FBS in TD passes (24 in nine games). The CB/WR has nine TD catches and seven passes defended in nine games. It could still impact where the Colorado stars land.

Before the 2004 NFL Draft, former New York Giants QB Eli Manning and his father, Archie, told the Chargers (then in San Diego) he didn't want to play for them. The Chargers took Manning with the No. 1 pick but traded him shortly after selecting him to the Giants for a package that included QB Philip Rivers.

Draft expert offers lofty comparison for Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty

In a Monday roundtable, ESPN's Matt Miller compared Jeanty to HOFer LaDainian Tomlinson.

"Like Tomlinson (now retired) was when he was coming out of TCU, Jeanty is an all-purpose running backpacked into a shorter build," wrote Miller.

Jeanty (5-foot-9, 215 pounds) will be lucky if his NFL career comes close to Tomlinson's. In 11 seasons with the Jets and Chargers, he earned three first-team All-Pro nods, won 2006 MVP and rushed for the seventh-most yards (13,684) in league history.

Regardless, Jeanty keeps showing why he could be the best RB in the class. Through nine games, he leads the FBS in rushing yards (1,734) and rushing TDs (23). In his latest mock draft, CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso has the Dallas Cowboys taking him with pick No. 11.

Alabama's Jihaad Campbell is vying for LB1

Before Alabama crushed LSU 42-13 in Week 11, ESPN's Jordan Reid wrote that Campbell (6-foot-3, 244 pounds) is "the No. 1 LB on [his] board."

Against the Tigers on the road, Campbell finished with 12 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three tackles for loss and one pass defended. On Monday, the Senior Bowl named him Defensive Player of the Week.

Earlier this week, Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kane Wommack hinted they might use Campbell as an edge-rusher more after fellow LB Que Robinson suffered a season-ending elbow injury.

Campbell has four sacks in nine games this season. More teams could add him to their watchlist if he showcases better pass-rushing skills. On his updated big board, The Athletic's Dane Brugler rates the junior as his No. 2 LB behind Georgia's Jalon Walker.

Oregon WR Tez Johnson could impress at the Senior Bowl

On Thursday, The Draft Network's Justin Melo listed Johnson — the adopted brother of Denver Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix — as one of the five most exciting Senior Bowl acceptees.

"Johnson is a highly skilled prospect with quick route-running ability," wrote Melo. "Johnson is a quick processor that will put opposing corners in a blender throughout [Senior Bowl] practice. He projects as an effective slot receiver at the next level."

Questions about Johnson's size and durability remain. The 5-foot-10, 165-pounder has missed one game with a shoulder issue. In his Wednesday news conference, Ducks head coach Dan Lanning didn't clarify whether he'll play in Saturday's road game against Wisconsin.

When healthy, Johnson is one of Oregon's top playmakers. According to Pro Football Focus, he has 451 yards after the catch, the seventh most in the FBS (minimum 27 targets).
