The Philadelphia Eagles decided to open up the playbook against the division rival Washington Commanders on "Thursday Night Football."
On first down early in the second quarter, head coach Nick Sirianni drew up a trick play to try and catch Washington's secondary off-guard for a deep shot.
Well, quarterback Jalen Hurts never had a chance to get the ball out of his hands and took a hard sack as a result.

Hurts handed the ball off to running back Saquon Barkley who then handed the ball to wide receiver Devonta Smith who was cutting across in the opposite direction.
Smith then tossed the ball back to Hurts in a flea-flicker fashion but by that point Washington's pass rush had already broken through the protection and reached the quarterback.
Hurts' head appeared to hit the turf because of the sack and slowly returned to his feet. He was not pulled from the field to be evaluated by the league's concussion spotters and continued playing.
Philadelphia's offense could not seem to get into a rhythm for most of the second quarter. Hurts missed a wide open A.J. Brown on a play that would've extended that same drive.
