Eagles' 'Tush Push' is costing Saquon Barkley serious fantasy points

The Philadelphia Eagles have been deadly from within the two-yard line on offense in recent years.

This season is no exception with quarterback Jalen Hurts scoring 10 rushing touchdowns entering Week 11.

On "Thursday Night Football" against the Washington Commanders, Philadelphia made it 11 rushing scores for Hurts after running back Saquon Barkley nearly broke the plane but was called down short at the one-yard line.

Fantasy owners of Barkley could be heard groaning nationwide and for good reason.

According to ESPN's Field Yates (via Sharp Football Analysis' Rich Hribar), Barkley has been called down at the one or two-yard line 11 separate times this season.

Incredibly, Barkley has only touched the football three times after those plays and scored only one touchdown.

In a standard league format, Barkley has missed out on roughly 30 fantasy points due to Philadelphia's opting for its trademark "tush push" play.

Those could be season-making scores for some or, inversely, reasons to give thanks for those facing him.

There are likely to be more similar situations as the second half of the season drags out, but that's the game of football.

Barkley made up for his earlier missed opportunity with a pair of touchdowns of his own late in the fourth quarter, putting Philadelphia up 26-10 over Washington.
