Watch: Geno Smith boosts Seahawks' playoff hopes with game-winning TD run

It may not have had the pre-game appeal of Pittsburgh-Baltimore or Buffalo-Kansas City, but there was an absolutely massive game in the NFC West on Sunday between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers that was going to make-or-break the playoff chances for at least one team.

It was the Seattle Seahawks coming out on top with a 20-17 victory thanks to a gutsy game-winning drive — and play — from quarterback Geno Smith

With the Seahawks trailing, 17-13, with under 20 seconds to play, Smith took off for a game-winning 13-yard touchdown run to leave the 49ers and their fans completely stunned.

Have a look:

That is a huge bounce back play for Smith who not only had a brutal game two weeks ago in a tough loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but also threw another bad interception earlier in the game.

He ended up making the big plays when the Seahawks needed them on Sunday, driving them 80 yards for the game-winning score.

The Seahawks, 49ers and Rams are all now tied at 5-5 in the NFC West, with all of them just one game behind the 6-4 Arizona Cardinals.

Had the Seahawks lost that game it would have put them into a tough spot that would have been difficult to come back from. Now they are still right in the thick of it.
