Ohio State loses commitment from four-star EDGE London Merritt

The Ohio State Buckeyes have lost a big 2025 commitment. London Merritt, four-star EDGE rusher from Bradenton, Florida (IMG Academy) his decided to re-open his recruitment.

Merritt had been committed to Ohio State since the spring 2024, but he announced on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that he had to make the hard decision to de-commit from the Buckeyes.

You don't often see recruits leaving Ohio State, which means he has to feel that something big is on the horizon for him. Notably, Merritt took an official visit to Colorado in October, and head coach Deion Sanders is on a bit of a roll on the recruiting trail.

In fact, "Coach Prime" recently landed elite quarterback recruit Julian Lewis, who had been committed to USC for some time before Colorado started showing strong interest in him.

Could Colorado be up next for Merritt? For what it's worth, On3's prediction machine is trending toward the Buffaloes now that his recruitment has opened back up.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Merritt is the No. 13 EDGE recruit in the country.
