Things are heating up with the New York Islanders, involving head coach Patrick Roy and general manager Lou Lamoriello.

It's not just the Montreal Canadiens who are struggling right now.

After yet another Islanders loss — this time by a score of 6-3 against the Boston Bruins, a statement from Patrick Roy quickly set the web ablaze.

Personally, I don't find it all that shocking, but I'm not too familiar with the rumors surrounding the relationship between Roy and Lamoriello.

A dismissal looming with the New York Islanders?

Here's the statement from Patrick Roy in question that is causing tension all around New York: "I love these guys. They work hard. They push. This is the team Lou gave me, and I'm going to work extremely hard for these guys."

Renowned insider David Pagnotta, who is very well-connected within the NHL, immediately reacted:

There's a strong sense that a major firing is imminent over there after another 6-3 loss at home against the Bruins.

This will certainly be a big story to watch in the coming days with the New York Islanders. However, as of the latest updates, Roy continues to deny rumors that his relationship with GM Lou Lamoriello is strained.
