Watch: Bills' Josh Allen scores improbable touchdown on crazy lateral

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been one of the leading MVP candidates this season, and he added another ridiculous play to his resume on Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

Allen and wide receiver Amari Cooper combined for one of the wilder touchdowns of the season, with Allen throwing a touchdown pass .... and scoring the touchdown on the same play.

Here is how it happened:

Here it is from another angle.

With the Bills facing a 1st-and-goal from the San Francisco seven-yard line, Allen completed a pass to Cooper who was about to be quickly tackled. But an alert Allen followed the play, and was perfectly positioned for Cooper to lateral the ball to him. Allen ended up winning a race to the end zone to give the Bills a 28-3 third quarter lead.

Along with the heads up play by Cooper to lateral the ball to Allen, that is also an incredible catch considering the weather conditions.

That officially goes into the books as a touchdown pass for Allen, making him just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw a touchdown pass and score the touchdown on the same play according to the NBC broadcast. It does not count as a reception for him, however.
