Arizona State running back Cameron Skattebo had a first half to remember against Iowa State in the Big 12 championship game.
The outstanding senior had 10 carries, 140 yards and two touchdowns as No. 15 Arizona State (10-2) built a 24-10 halftime lead.
Skattebo had three carries of at least 28 yards, including a 47-yarder early in the second quarter.
He broke four tackles on the explosive carry, and he followed it with a 53-yard tackle-breaking run later in the quarter.

Per the ESPN broadcast, Skattebo gained 90 yards after contact. He was so good in the first half that his nearly disastrous first-quarter pass attempt out of the wildcat formation was barely a footnote.

With a win, the Sun Devils — picked to finish last in the Big 12 by conference media members during the preseason — will clinch a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff, likely as the No. 12 seed.
They'll potentially travel to a cold-weather environment for their first-round CFP game, and Skattebo's bruising running style could be exactly what they need to pull off a road upset.
No. 16 Iowa State (10-2) has 30 minutes to spoil Arizona State's storybook season. However, Skattebo's first half has the Sun Devils on the verge of running away with their first outright conference championship since 1996.
