Ahead of kickoff at MetLife Stadium for the New York Giants' home game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Giants owner John Mara was met with an apparent plea from frustrated fans.
Circling the stadium was a small plane towing a banner that read, "Mr. Mara Enough — Plz Fix This Dumpster Fire."

The stadium was empty of fans, but players were on the field for warm-ups and members of the press were settling into their seats when the plane arrived. The plane made its way around the stadium, giving tailgating Giants fans in the parking lot a clear view as well. With the Giants sitting at 2-10 and some fans rooting for losses to secure a top draft pick, many likely agreed with the message flying above.
This is also a case of history repeating itself for Big Blue. In a similar low point for the franchise in 1978, 95 fans known as the Giants Fan Committee got together to raise funds for a banner to fly over the stadium. Their message to ownership at the time read, "15 Years of Lousy Football...We've Had Enough."
It's been 12 years since the Giants won their last Super Bowl, and their lone playoff victory in the last decade was nearly two years ago against the Minnesota Vikings. Quarterback Daniel Jones and star running back Saquon Barkley, who led that team to victory, are no longer with the franchise.
If there's anything Giants fans can hope for, it's that this most recent banner has a similar effect as the previous one. Their message was received in 1978, and it led to widespread organizational change; more importantly, it eventually led to the promotion of then-defensive coordinator Bill Parcells to head coach. Parcells went on to lead the team to two Super Bowl titles.
With current head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen perhaps finding themselves on the hot seat, history looks to be repeating itself. Whether this leads to a resurgence for the Giants remains to be seen.
