The Heisman Trophy winner will officially be announced on Saturday in New York, which has boiled down to a two-man race between Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, but first, there are a few more awards to hand out.
Some of the biggest individual awards are announced on Thursday night, including the Doak Walker Award, given to the best running back in college football.
To nobody's surprise, Jeanty took it home after a historic season, in which, with at least one playoff game to go, he is just 132 yards away from breaking Barry Sanders' single-season rushing yard record set at 2,628.

This award has seemingly been decided for weeks, as Jeanty's numbers outperform everyone else in college football.
He finished the season rushing for 2,497 yards (led CFB), 29 touchdowns (tied for first in CFB with Army RB Bryson Daily), 7.3 yards-per-carry (seventh in CFB), and 192.1 yards per game (led CFB).
According to Pro Football Focus, Jeanty also broke records in yards after contact (1,882) and forced missed tackles (135) since the stats started being recorded in 2014.
Even if the Heisman doesn't fall his way, he leaves Boise State as the record-setter in single-season rushing yards and touchdowns while being the only player in program history to win the Doak Walker Award.
