Patriots' Jerod Mayo reacts to viral Robert Kraft, Jonathan Kraft clip

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and team president Jonathan Kraft went viral during the first half of the club's 30-17 loss at the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday when they appeared unable to hide their displeasure with the team's offense.

While speaking with reporters on Monday, first-year Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo was asked about how the Krafts reacted to what they saw at State Farm Stadium.

"I haven’t seen anything like that, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about," Mayo said, as shared by Sean T. McGuire of NESN. "What I will say is they’ve been fully supportive of us as a team, and look, they’re huge fans of the team they own. So whatever they say, that’s what they said."

Mayo's future became somewhat of a hot Patriots-related topic as the club entered its Week 14 bye at 3-10. Multiple reports from last week suggested that the Krafts could part ways with Mayo in January if New England ended the season with four straight ugly defeats. However, Patriots/NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated later noted that "the Kraft family has respect for the job Mayo’s done this year, keeping his team engaged and weathering a tough media environment — one that all included the likes of his predecessor, Bill Belichick."

The Patriots play at the 11-3 Buffalo Bills this Sunday, and New England hosts Buffalo in Week 18. In between those games, the Pats will welcome the Los Angeles Chargers (8-6) to Gillette Stadium.

"I’m not going to get into what they said," Mayo added about the Kraft clip during a Monday morning appearance on Boston sports radio station WEEI, per Karen Guregian of MassLive. "I heard about it this morning. But look, they own the football team. They’re fans of the team. And they’ve supported us 100 percent on the football side of not really getting involved in that stuff, which has been good."

As of Monday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook listed the Patriots as massive 14-point underdogs for the Week 16 showdown at the Bills. If such forecasts prove to be accurate regarding the nature of that game, chatter about Mayo's job status will grow only louder before Christmas Day arrives.
