Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers have a long history together. They developed one of the best quarterback-wide receiver "mind melds" of all time while with the Green Bay Packers, and they're running it back with the New York Jets.
Things aren't the same in 2024 on a 4-10 Jets team, but Rodgers and Adams have connected on four touchdowns in the past three games. That "mind meld" seems to be back, but speaking of the supernatural...it seems as if Rodgers — ever the conspiracy theorist — has been interested in another phenomenon off the field.
Unexplained drones are flying in the air around New Jersey, and because this is a column about football, we'll leave it at that. Rodgers, speaking to his friend Pat McAfee last week, though, seems like he in no way wants to stick with just football. He wants to make contact:
tonight, Aaron Rodgers is going to try & communicate with aliens in the drones above New Jersey using green lasers & a meditation protocol called CE5

apparently the goal of the CE5 meditation protocol is to attract and interact with UFOs pic.twitter.com/yhuhtLWad9
That's an Aaron Rodgers-ism if there ever was one. It's not on the level of darkness retreats or running for vice president with Robert Kennedy Jr., but it's right there.
How does the Jets locker room feel about Rodgers and his "out of this world" ideas? Well, if you were to use Adams as a gauge, they seem to think he's weird.
Here's what he told Kay Adams:
How much Aaron Rodgers DRONE talk is their in that Jets locker room??

Rodgers may be weird, and he's certainly not the MVP quarterback he once was, but he was, without a doubt, a worthy four-time MVP in his prime. His downfall with the Jets has been disappointing, to say the least, and when he does retire, he'll likely go on to do some more weird things.
Until then, and likely after, he'll continue to provide us with strange soundbites.
