Watch: Notre Dame opens scoring in CFP with incredible 98-yard TD run

The opening game of the 2024 College Football Playoff between Notre Dame and Indiana got off to an electrifying start on Friday night.

Notre Dame opened the scoring early in the first quarter when running back Jeremiyah Love broke free for a 98-yard touchdown, tying a school record for the longest touchdown run.

Have a look.

That run not only tied a school record, it also put Love over 1,000 yards for the season and extended his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown run this season to 13 games. He now has a rushing touchdown in every game Notre Dame has played this season.

It also came after both teams opened the game by exchanging turnovers in the first quarter.

After Indiana intercepted Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard to set Indiana up with prime field position, Xavier Watts responded by picking off Kurtis Rourke at the two-yard line to keep the Hoosiers off the scoreboard.

The very next play from scrimmage was Love's 98-yard touchdown run.
