The College Football Playoff might just be too big of a moment for SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings.
Early in the second quarter against 6-seed Penn State (11-2), Jennings rolled out to his right under pressure and threw across the middle of the field directly to a Nittany Lion defender.
The ball was then run back roughly 60 yards, bobbing and weaving through would-be tacklers, for the team's second pick-six of the game.

Jennings appeared to be struggling to read through his progressions as Penn State's defense delivered pressure after pressure, causing him to scramble on nearly every play.
He would throw his third pick of the game two drives later, practically burying the Mustangs' chances at building momentum to mount a comeback.

The Nittany Lions offense would join in on the fun, scoring a touchdown to put PSU up 21-0.

No. 11 SMU (11-2) fell to Clemson in the ACC Championship Game but were still awarded a spot in the College Football Playoff bracket anyways.
The winner of the first-round matchup in Happy Valley advances to face 3-seed Boise State (12-1), champions of the Mountain West Conference.
