Antonio Pierce has had enough talk about Raiders' draft position

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce was in no mood to hear about any tanking.

He definitely wasn't in the mood to field questions about it, especially after a 19-14 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars that dropped the Raiders to the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and snapping a 10-game losing streak.

In his weekly news conference from the team's headquarters in Henderson, Nevada, Pierce was asked if he has any message for Raider Nation who are upset that they fell in the NFL Draft order.

"No comment," he told reporters.

In a follow-up question, Pierce was asked about the players' attitudes after the game.

He gave an in-depth answer about it, somewhat bothered by the talk of tanking from the outside.

"Yeah, man. Look, we work 80 hours a week, the staff," he said. "The players come in here 40 plus hours to work. We don't do this to lose. We don't do this for anybody's fantasy football team. We don't do this for anybody's draft projections. None of that s-- matters to us. The only thing that matters is winning, and that's all we want to do."

Entering Sunday's game, the Raiders were atop of the NFL Draft, followed by the New York Giants. All that changed at the conclusion of the Raiders game on Sunday.

Pierced fielded a question about how fans are focused on the first overall pick and replied with "Talk to (general manager) Tom Telesco."

The top two picks figure to be Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders or Miami QB Cam Ward.

If the Raiders lose out on either quarterback, they can turn to other would-be draft hopefuls or a free-agent quarterback that includes Sam Darnold and Justin Fields among others.

Pierce has a lot to worry about, including his job status, but for now, he is not hearing about any draft order.
