If being down 17 at halftime on Christmas Day wasn't bad enough for the Dallas Mavericks, losing their star player to an apparent injury makes matters even worse.
Luka Doncic left the game in the second quarter of Dallas' game against the Timberwolves on Wednesday and has now been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Doncic was having an efficient first half, scoring 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting (3-of-5 from three). Doncic and Kyrie Irving combined for 27 of the Mavericks' 40 first-half points.
Doncic injured his hamstring with just under three minutes remaining in the first half, and his absence for the remainder of the game will give Dallas a tough battle in attempting a comeback in the second half.

Dallas will closely monitor Doncic's injury status, and he will certainly not return to action until he is 100% healed and ready for game action.
