Celebrating the NFL's best returns of 2024

While the rest of the country returns unwanted gifts, we’re celebrating those NFL players that took it to the house by scoring touchdowns on kick and punt returns. Here's a look at the best of the season.

KaVontae Turpin | Dallas Cowboys | Week 1

This year, the Cowboys wide receiver didn’t waste time, returning this punt for a score against Cleveland on opening day.

DeeJay Dallas | Arizona Cardinals | Week 1

The Cardinal’s fourth-string running back put his name in the record books with the first return for a touchdown under the NFL’s new rules for 2024.

Laviska Shenault | L.A. Chargers | Week 6

Next.

Rashid Shaheed | New Orleans Saints | Week 6

Shaheed’s 54-yard score was the only bright spot for the Saints in a 51-27 home loss to the Buccaneers, the fourth defeat in what would become a seven-game losing streak.

Charlie Jones | Cincinnati Bengals | Week 7

What could be better than returning the opening kickoff for a score against a division rival? Thanks to Jones, Cincinnati never trailed in a game they’d win 21-14.

Parker Washington | Jacksonville Jaguars | Week 7

Not much has gone right for the 3-12 Jaguars this year but this touchdown by the second-year wide receiver helped the team score 22 points against the Patriots in the second quarter of a 32-16 win.

Kalif Raymond | Detroit Lions | Week 8

Thanks to Raymond, the Lions put up 17 unanswered points in the second half of a 52-14 victory over the Titans, one of two 52-point performances Detroit would have in 2024.

KaVontae Turpin | Dallas Cowboys | Week 12

He’s back. Ahead by three points with just over three minutes to play on the road against Washington, Turpin let a short kick by Washington’s Austin Seibert bounce through his legs before getting loose for a 99-yard score.

Juanyeh Thomas | Dallas Cowboys | Week 12

Same game, different player. Dallas held a one-point lead with 21 seconds left before the second-year safety returned Washington’s onsides kick for a touchdown. In doing so, Dallas became the first team in NFL history to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in the fourth quarter of a game.

Kene Nwangwu | New York Jets | Week 13

The little-used running back returned two kicks for scores as a member of the Vikings from 2021-23 but this was his first as a Jet. Unfortunately, his team couldn’t hold the lead, losing to Seattle 26-21.
