A former assistant GM of the NHL has recently presented a blockbuster trade scenario involving Canucks' J.T. Miller in a massive three-way deal.
Former NHL assistant GM Steve Werier had one interesting three-way trade proposal that would send the New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, and Vancouver Canucks all in different directions.
In this blockbuster hypothetical, all three teams could see some big changes to their rosters, and there has definitely been a lot of trade chatter surrounding Miller as of late.
Names involved in the deal would be the Rangers' Chris Kreider, a left winger, Red Wings center J.T. Compher, Miller and Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren.
The deal would involve two 'JTs' switching teams, as Miller returns to the Rangers, who originally drafted him, and Compher heads to Vancouver. It would likely be the first NHL trade featuring multiple players with the initials 'JT'.
Steve Werier said that Miller's complete no-trade clause could inhibit a trade, although it soon settles into a 15-team no-trade clause.
In this case, that shall give Vancouver more leeway to move him this season or in the future with much more ease.
