Las Vegas Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby wants to win now.
He said on his podcast 'The Rush with Maxx Crosby' this week that he watched Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett talk about his situation. That resonated with Crosby who said he is also tired of losing and wants results.
That is a problem to be had with the Raiders since 2002. Sure, there was a winning season mixed in, but Crosby hasn't experienced much success.
"People love to talk about me getting traded and that’s the reality," he said. "Like I’ve earned that right to be in, you know what I mean? At the end of the day, I agree with what Myles said. I’m on the same boat. I want to win. You know what I mean? I want to know there’s a real plan and execution behind it."
Raiders owner Mark Davis and general manager Tom Telesco need to get it figured out before losing their star pass rusher. It is already bad that Davante Adams asked to be traded and he got his wish — to the New York Jets to reunite with Aaron Rodgers.
Crosby was drafted by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and made it to the playoffs once when the franchise appeared in the 2021-22 wild-card round, losing to the Super Bowl-bound Cincinnati Bengals.
Crosby is out for the season because of an ankle injury and said he's had six surgeries since entering the league. Still, Crosby is a figure that the Raiders don't want to lose and must understand his frustration.
"I’ve put everything into it," he said. "I train all year round. I sacrifice all the time in the world, my daughter, my family, with y’all, with everybody, 24/7. Like real isolation a lot of the time because I got to be up at five in the morning. No matter if it’s office, y’all know how it is. Like I put everything into it, and I’ve earned the right to say something.
"I’m not sitting here saying I got all the answers or I’m 100% right about everything. But at the end of the day, like my intentions are pure and like I want to win. And that’s all that matters to me."
Crosby said there has been "six years of inconsistency" with the Raiders. He said he is tired of it.
"It’s new coaches every other year and this and this and that and new teammates," he said. "And there’s been plenty of times where I’m like, ----, like this D-line is cold. And then I come back and every single one of them is gone. There’s a lot of things."
It is up to the Raiders to fix the ongoing problems. Drafting a quarterback high in the first round is imperative for the Raiders as a first step.
