Back in 2022, the day before Christmas eve, the Toronto Blue Jays closed a massive trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks for outfielder Daulton Varsho.

Blue Jays fans have been looking over past trades recently that have affected the current team since the front-office has yet to make any big moves in quite some time.

The Blue Jays were the clear winners in the trade with the Diamondbacks that landed Daulton Varsho

The Blue Jays closed a massive trade almost exactly two years ago for outfielder Daulton Varsho, which landed them one of the best outfielders in baseball, even if they had to give up two players for him.

The Blue Jays sent catcher Gabriel Moreno and outfielder Loudres Gurriel Jr. back to Arizona, and while Varsho is not an offensive threat, it is his defensive game that makes the Blue Jays the clear winners.

While Gurriel has put up some solid numbers at the plate for Arizona over the last two years with 24 home runs in 2023 and 18 hom eruns in 2024, Varsho is not far behind but his defensive game is miles ahead.

Varsho was far from the top of the Blue Jays' batting order but was still a massive factor on the team due to how good he was on the field, which resulted in him winning his first Gold Glove in 2024.

Fans are hoping to see more of these types of moves this offseason but will have to keep patiently waiting a little longer as nothing has happened just yet.

The Blue Jays have been linked to all kinds of players but are still pretty far from closing any deals.
