Had Calcaterra not made the spectacular catch, it would have been fourth down for Philadelphia. Moments after Calcaterra's heroics, QB Kenny Pickett connected with WR DeVonta Smith for a 22-yard TD that put the Eagles up 14-7 with 6:38 left in the first half.
Before Sunday, Calcaterra had six games in which he did not produce a single reception. His only TD of the season came against the Carolina Panthers in Week 14.
The Eagles came into Week 17 with a 12-3 record, one game back of the Detroit Lions (13-2) and Minnesota Vikings (13-2) for the best record in the NFC. With QB Jalen Hurts (concussion) sidelined for Sunday, the pressure is on Pickett and the Eagles to keep pace in the NFC and clinch the NFC East title with a win over the Cowboys.
